"Ament wrote that over 50 exhibitors could be forced out of Denver’s signature National Western Stock Show because they rely on fur-based products — including of course cowboy hats. (The legendary Stetson originated in Colorado.) The fur ban would imperil other key cultural events, too, such as the Denver March Powwow and the Indian Market and Southwest Art Fest, all of which draw many vendors of traditional fur-based crafts. Indeed, fur is used in quintessentially Colorado products from hats to fishing flies."
